Item # Dawn Redwood

The Dawn Redwood is a grand tree, its conical shape reaches high into the sky and adds a striking design element to any landscape. Linear, fern-like leaves emerge as light green in the spring, and mature to a deeper green in the summer. As the weather cools, the leaves turn a vibrant red or bronze. The broad, strong trunk will develop elaborate fluting as it matures. The Dawn Redwood is deciduous (it loses its leaves in winter) but has year round interest with its remarkable trunk and branches.

This tree is very easy to grow in many conditions including wet to clay soils.  It can handle heat and air pollution and is resistant to deer.
