Item # Ajuga Chocolate Chip
Chocolate Chip is an extremely dwarf variety with chocolate colored foliage. It forms a mat 2 inches high of shinny narrow leaves. The variety is used as a groundcover, in planters, or in rock gardens. Ajugas or Bugle Flowers are easy and fast growing perennials that prefer shade and will spread to for an attractive low-growing groundcover. Some ajugas are aggressive and difficult to remove but BTN selected varieties are not as aggressive. Usually grown for the foliage, ajugs produce bugle shaped flowers on 4 to 6 inch stalks in the spring. Deer and rabbits do not eat this plant and can live near a Black Walnut tree.
